Carter Motor offers a wide selection of AC/DC universal, DC shunt, DC permanent magnet, DC tach generators, gearmotors, and voltage converters.

Design Features Common to all Carter Products

•Armature
Dynamically balanced. Low electrical loss laminations for increased efficiency. Armature electrostatically coated and/or impregnated with polymerizing varnish.

•Bearings
Sealed, precision ball bearings on armature shaft, require no lubrication. Sleeve bearings on gear shafts permanently lubricated.

•Gears
Special alloy bronze gears are used on all models for shock loads and temporary overload conditions. Gears in accordance with AGMA

•Insulation
All motors use 200°C high temperature insulation magnet wire.

•Mounting
Mounting and shaft heights interchangeable with most competitive types.

•Ventilation
Universal motors are open and/or ventilated with an internal cooling fan. Shunt motors can be supplied ventilated with fan and/or totally enclosed. PM motors and tachometers are totally enclosed only.

•Voltages
Motor models and ratings listed on this site range from 6 to 230 AC or DC.

•Brushes
All motors feature easily replaceable brushes.
